ABOUT US

Nanjiah Lingammal Polytechnic College, a leading technical academic Institution started functioning from 1984 at Mettupalayam, Coimbatore district is situated amidst the serene foothills of Ooty, sponsored by Tamilnadu Kalvi Kappu Arakkatali, Chennai.

With the abundant real vision of the founder Thiru T T S Thippaiah, Ex M.L.A,and by the untiring endeavour and whole hearted commitment of the members of the trust, the Institution successfully began to service the mankind in rural society.

The main aim in establishing this trust was to promote education in general and facilitate quality education especially for socially and economically deprived and downtrodden younger generation, equip them to meet the global challenges in development and application of technology for the benefit of humanity thereby engendering an egalitarian society.

The Institution is managed by eminent persons Dr P Rajendran , Secretary and Thiru T T S Baskaran, Administrative Officer. The Present Principal Thirumathi J Kousalya is a renouned academician and able administrator under whose stewardship the college is growing from strength to strength.

NLPTC is not just an another Institution but a place where Students, Faculty and Staff members live and grow in a manner that will benefit the society and the country.

Courses Offered

 

In Nanjiah Lingammal Polytechnic College at Mettupalayam, the major Diploma courses available are Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering.

The full-time regular Diploma course in Engineering will be for a period of three academic years. The course will run on semester pattern for the first, second and third year, comprising of six semesters and fifteen weeks duration each.

VISION:

To develop the students with comprehensive engineering and professional skills in Mechanical Engineering and Allied fields and having moral values and social responsibility.

DEPARTMENT OF AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING

 

VISION:

To impart student centric education in the field of Automobile Engineering to transform the individuals into competent automotive graduates to meet industry expectations and promote values, ethics & professionalism.

  • To provide an excellent academic and a conducive environment for students to enhance their skills in technical, co-curricular activities, extra-curricular activities, entrepreneurship, soft skills and personality traits.

DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING

VISION:

To achieve excellence in the field of Computer Science and Engineering and to produce competent professionals with strong analytical skills, technical skills, managerial skills and ethical values by imparting quality technical education to serve the industry and society.

  • To provide hands-on-experience and problem-solving skills by imparting quality education through best teaching-learning processes, laboratory practices and through project based learning.

  • To promote all round development of students through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

PLACEMENT

Nanjiah Lingammal Polytechnic College at Mettupalayam in Coimbatore, assists our students by enabling them to be placed in reputed jobs through campus interviews. The placement cell in our institution helps in bringing together the employers and the students for positive employment through in-plant training.

Our institution being one of the Diploma colleges with 100% placement, always aims at enriching the students by providing them with continuous opportunities to explore more. The placement cell organize meetings and monitors the students in Personality development and Communication Skills. On an average, every year 80% of our students are well placed in various industries and 20% of our students continue higher studies. 100% placement has been achieved all the academic years.

SPORTS AND GAMES

Sports and Games receive due attention among the students. There has been enthusiastic participation among students in the Annual/ Zonal//Inter Zonal games and sports meet of Polytechnic, apart from the Inter Polytechnic Athletic Association competitions and other intramural events.

Sports inculcates discipline and Physical build up in a person and also helps to upgrade their personality. It is for this reason that sports and games are given particular importance.

ROTARACT CLUB

The Rotaract club of NLPTC aims at the individual development of the students as a whole, to promote ethical standards, skills in job career, public speaking, personality development, yoga and meditation, character building and pioneers the individual to handle various extra ordinary positions.

YRC

Youth Red Cross movement has been functioning in our institution for the past three years. This unit is linked with the Tamilnadu Red Cross Society. Members of movement are trained in first-aid and other health care programs so as to lead a healthy and happy life.

ECO-CLUB

  • In our Institution we have an eco-club, which performs activities to save the environment, like planting trees, organizing poster competitions on various environmental issues. Now our eco-club will organize activities to increase awareness about increasing pollution in the river Ganga.

  • Eco- club is a platform on which we get the knowledge about environment. The meaning of an Eco-club is a group who works to contribute to improve environmental conditions. They offer programs and activities to encourage others to reduce pollution, plant trees, and more.

  • Motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by  plantation of trees.

  • Promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.

YOGA

  • Yoga is both spiritual and physical activity.

  • Yoga will lead a sense of peace, well being.

  • Yoga will improve memory, concentration and will power.

  • Yoga uses breathing techniques, exercises and Meditation.

LIBRARY

The library boasts excellent facilities and serves as a place for quiet reading and friendly environment that enables learning and advancement of knowledge. It is a most lively place on the campus, promotes good skills, improves the academic and intellectual activities of the students and staff members. Dr. P. B. Sundaresan memorial library is associated with more documents consisting of technical books, reports, and back volume of Journals. The digital library has been inaugurated to benefit the students immensely.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

NSS provides an excellent opportunity to develop students qualities of patriotism, secularism, self discipline, dignity of labour and leadership qualities.The Institute has two NSS units with 200 volunteers. Besides involving in various social service activities, every year special camps are organized in adopted villages.The NSS volunteers are eligible for admission in the Engineering colleges through lateral entry scheme, under a special reservation of three seats, vide the G.O.No: 134, Hr. Edn.(J1) Department dated 10-05-02, since 1986.

ALUMNI MEETING

Finding the right path to success at the right time is really very important and for that way I selected NLPTC. The friendly environment, the systematic approach towards imparting education at NLPTC made me a competent individual. The wide range of activities both curricular and co-curricular activities and the support from NLPTC was really very helpful for my future. The Facullty were very kind and approachable when any need arises. In NLPTC we were trained for our placements and because of that I was placed in one of the reputed companies. Today, if I am in good position it' s because of what I have learnt from NLPTC – Mr. Rajinikanth/Service Manager, TVS Mobility Services.

CANTEEN

The college canteen provides nutritious and tasty snacks and drinks for the students and staff. Carbonate drinks and junk foods are not served.

STORES

The college has a store in its precincts that sells stationaries and eatables to the students at a very reasonable rate. Record notebooks and textbooks are also sold.

HOSTEL

Accommodation with nutritious food, vegetarian and non-vegetarian is provided to all the inmates of the hostel.

The college provides internet facility to all the departments and library with a high bandwidth mbps.

DRIVING SCHOOL

Nanjiah Lingammal Polytechnic College driving institute provides training for driving four wheeler and two wheeler for both staff and students. Every semester many students get benefited by our driving school.
